This DC-3, origianlly 44-76869 with the US Army Air Force, was in Salair's fleet 1989 -1996. It's pictured in the second color scheme it wore with the cargo airline.

Delivered to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on February 25, 1959, CF-MPX was sold in 1979 as the RCMP looked to modernize it's fleet. Pictured with Harbour Air (June 1985 - June 1986), one of the ten operators that flew it 1979 - 2010. Sold in the USA as N93PC, it was converted to a Texas Turbine Otter and flew for Rediske Air, in Alaska. On July 7, 2013, the aircraft tragically stalled on take-off at Soldotna Airport, AK and burned. The aircraft was later determined to be outside of the weight and center of gravity limits.

This Grumman G-73 Mallard, CF-HPU (msn J-9) was operated by 20th Century Fox Film Corporation in California in 1948-1954. To Pacific Western Airlines (PWA) as CF-HPU and named Kitimat Princess while supporting construction of a aluminum smelter on the northern BC coast. To BC Air Lines (BCAL) 1959-1973; back to PWA when it bought BCAL. Sold to West Coast Air Service in Dec. 1973. Exported to USA in January 1975. To Chalks Int'l Miami in Jun 1975. Converted by Frakes Aviation to a G-73T in 1984. Sold to Virgin Island Seaplane Shuttle as N609SS. To Caribbean Airline Services 1990. Wrecked 1994.

Delivered four days ago to Porter is their 8th E195-E2. It operated it's first revenue flight today into YVR but ended up cancelling on the outbound due to the storm system on the East Coast. Here it is getting towed to the South Pad for overnight parking.

Another ex. Air Europa frame has ended up with Flair, this being the 3rd. Named after Guy Borowski, Flair's VP of Maintenance who seemingly needs to figure out how to apply stickers since his name is already peeling off, and the Flair titles are crooked. Departing this afternoon for Edmonton as F81798.

Arriving this evening as "Porter (POE) 313" from Toronto. Nice to already see a 2nd daily service from them, with a 3rd coming for the Summer season.

Beginning in 1973, CAAC took delivery of nine 707s from Boeing (and IL-62s from the Soviet Union) to start long-haul international routes. B-2406 was was the third aircraft delivered on April 15, 1974. In 1988, Air China was established by the Chinese government to operate the country's international routes and the airliner was transferred to them by 1989. Sold in 1993, it was converted by IAI - Israel Aircraft Industries to a 707 Re'em and delivered to the Israeli Air Force with serial 260.

Transport Command's 412 Squadron flew this Falcon 20 1969 - 1977. Converted to an ECM trainer, it's pictured with 414 Sqn based out of North Bay, ON. The aircraft was transferred to the National Research Council in 1990 and registered C-FIGD. It's current at the time of uploading as part of the NRC's varied research fleet based in Ottawa, ON.

Pictured in Trans Provincial's final color scheme, this Twin Otter would go to Kenn Borek Air in 1993 when TPA was acquired by Harbour Air. The aircraft was leased to Harbour Air for the summers of 1993 and 1994. After that, periodic leases to Maldivian Air Taxi (8Q-CSL) occurred until the aircraft was re-registered C-GIKB when returned to Kenn Borek at the end of 2009.

1965 Bell 204B CF-OKZ was with Okanagan Helicopters 1966 - 1979. It was registered N2778P December 1979 - April 1980 before coming back to Canada with Maple Leaf Helicopters 1980 - 85 registered C-GRGY. Also operated over the years by Toronto, Canadian, Tasman, Transwest, Capital, Sunwest, Superior, Gateway and Wilderness Helicopters . With Wilderness since 2009, the helicopter is current at the time of uploading but available for sale.

Porter Airlines took delivery of its first five Embraer E195C-2 in late Dec. 2022 and flew them to Toronto for the launch of its first ever scheduled jet service, with routes launched to Ottawa and Montreal, and then Vancouver on Feb. 7th. Porter began operations on Oct. 23, 2006 from CYTZ with DHC Dash 8-400s with 29 acquired by 2017. Porter sought approval to operate CS100 jets jets from YTZ in 2013, but it did not receive government approval. Porter shut down for 18 months during Covid-19, but ordered 30 new E195-C2s in July 2021 and 20 more in July 2022 for a major expansion program.

This Sikorsky S-92A, C-GVZS, was built in Coatesville, PA and first flown as N160H. It was delivered to PHI (Petroleum Helicopters Inc) in Jan. 2012 and registered N920PH. Between early 2012 and 2019, it flew from PHI heliports in Louisiana (primarily Boothville, Houma and Amelia) to offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. It was permanently retired from the PHI fleet in Sep. 2019 after the company exited Chapter 11 and stored in New Jersey. Sold to Heli One Canada in April 2022 and ferried to CYVR in July 2022 as C-GVZS. Seen outside Heli-One after parts recovery. Cancelled Jan 31, 2023.

Looking brand new in AirWest's latest colors, this Twin Otter first flew in November 1967. It had already worked in the Caribbean for nine years (registered N591MA, VP-VDC and C6-BDC) before coming to AirWest in 1976. The airline was renamed Air BC before the end of 1980; C-GGAW going to West Coast Air in 1996, the aircraft crashed at Vancouver Harbor on November 1, 2000. An engine failed on take-off causing a loss of control at low altitude. All 17 on board escaped uninjured before the aircraft sank. Recovered for investigation, the wreck was sold to Erwin Aero Industries for parts in 2007.

Behind the scenes building an airline. Gulf Air's C-GLCP is rolled into the shop for refurbishment and new paint. Entrepreneur Jim Pattison was merging ten float operators to form Air BC at the time, but would start to exit small float operations several years later to expand IFR regional flights with larger aircraft. Air BC sold C-GLCP in 1984 and the aircraft remained in British Columbia on floats. It's current with Harbour Air at the time of uploading, having been converted to a VazarTurbine Otter in 2005.

First flight for this Teal was May 2 1970 as N2006T. It was exported to Canada in 1974 as C-GOAE and has been with the same owner since 1978.

A nice surprise this morning was this Sunwing 737-800 parked at B21. It would later ferry out as WG9172 to Kelowna.

After FIVE years since the launch, the first aircraft has now been repainted into the new WestJet livery. C-GOIA, the former Integra Air Saab 340 which flew for Pacific Coastal and later WestJet Link, returned from maintenance this afternoon sporting the new colours. Looking forward to seeing it enter service in the near future!

Porter's inaugural flight from Toronto, arriving as "Porter (POE) 305" the other day. Fitting that they also used the first E2 to be delivered to Porter. From what I have heard, they plan to have 30 E2s by the end of the year. Great to see them here as I look forward to trying them out at some point!
