On display at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air and Space Museum. The Ju-52 was used all over Europe and became the flagship for Deutsche Lufthansa, which bought them by the dozen. It could carry 17 passengers or three tons of freight. Most of Lufthansa's fleet was requisitioned during World War II. Despite the desperate situation, Lufthansa continued flying till the end of the war, operating Ju-52/3m D-AFFF into Flensburg on 5 May 1945.

Lufthansa named many of its aircraft after German WWI aces, including Olivier von Beaulieu-Marconnay. Built in 1934, D-AMIT went to Lufthansa Peru in 1938 and was confiscated by the Peruvian government in 1941. The two DC-3s were delivered in the summer of 1937. KLM's PH-ALP Pelikaan ended up with KNILM in the East Indies as PK-AFV and was shot down by Zeros near Broome on 3 March 1942. In reality this is T.2B-144 that flew with the EdA from 1949. In 1974 it became D-CIAS with Air Classik and then from 1994 it was displayed on the spectator terrace at FRA. In 1996 it moved to the Besucherpark at MUC and acquired these false markings. The real D-ANOY 'Rudolph von Thüna' was w/o in December 1938 a flight between Berlin and Vienna.

The G31 was a large airliner seating 16 passengers. Only 13 examples were built. The unusual tail configuration here reveals the dual national flags to be carried by German aircraft from 6 July 1933 - the black-white-red flag on the starboard side and the swastika flag on the port side. The swastika flag became the only German flag in September 1935. Photo by: Willem van de Poll / Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
