This iconic aircraft first took to the air on 02 Mar 1969 at Toulouse-Blagnac in the hands of André Turcat, Concorde's chief test pilot, accompanied by Jacques Guignard, Henri Perrier and Michel Retif. This first Concorde prtotype was built by Aérospatiale at Toulouse and made the inaugural test flight from Toulouse on 2nd March 1969. It first went supersonic on 1st October of that year and went on to fly with Aérospatiale until October 1973 when it was retired to this super museum for display. The small sticker between the forward door and windshield signifes that this plane was modified with rooftop portholes for use on the 1973 Solar Eclipse mission and equipped with observation instruments. It performed the longest observation of a solar eclipse to date, about 74 minutes.

Ex KN566, 44-76853. Registration cancelled on 14 February 1965 on sale to Norway as LN-RTO, and restored as G-AMPO on 17 June 1969. Registration cancelled on 18 October 2001 as permanently withdrawn from use, and later presented to the Royal Logistics Corps for display (painted as as FZ626) at RAF Lyneham. It has was moved to RAF Brize Norton for display in 2011.

Originally the Srs. 400 development aircraft first flown on 13 July 1965, converted as the Srs. 500 prototype which flew on 30 June 1967, and then the Srs. 475 prototype which flew on 27 August 1970. In 1977 G-ASYD was converted yet again as the Srs. 670, developed with the Japanese market in mind. In this form it first flew on 13 September 1977, and made an appearance at Farnborough in 1978, however this version was not proceeded with. It has since been preserved at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, flying there from Hurn on 14 July 1994.

Prestwick was used quite a lot for Concorde training around that time, although it was usually British Airways ones. There were two prototypes, then two pre-production aircraft. On its first visit to Prestwick, this is the second pre-production one, 102, built at Toulouse. First Concorde to fly to the United States Dallas, Texas. In 1976 it was retired from development flying and put on public display at Orly Airport, Paris. It was painted in British Airways colours on the other side.
